The Digital Continuum: Evolving past fantasy Pt.1 appears to be massively’s entry in the ‘Why Fantasy’ kerfluffle, but of course it’s really all about me: Retaliation for my earlier scathing report of how massively’s daily-fluff piece lacked substance.
Step-by-step, Kyle Horner delivers every wish that I had expressed in the prior review. When addressing my desire for external linkage, he even includes a link to my commentary, as opposed to the more traditional shunning.
This strategy to establish massively as the better man between us might have backfired, had it been mishandled, and instead merely made massively appear to be cowed.
Kyle Horner, however, handled it any way but mis.
On the heels of showing due props, he delivered a boldly contrary perspective.
In fact, the more I read on the subject of “Why fantasy?” the more I think, “All the more reason to evolve beyond fantasy.”
So great, don’t I look like the ass, now?
All in all, as interesting a read as any of the posts on the topic ever have been. My only disappointment was his failure to use the term “beating a dead horse” as a wry reference to the audience’s capacity for misundertanding.
I give it 4.5 out of 5 golden posts.
Post Script:
Please read prior to engaging your righteous indignation.
Ok, I’m kidding.
I know that post wasn’t all about me.
What I meant to say was “Good post. If you like good things, go read it.”
