Granted, my knowledge of flash games isn’t exactly encyclopedic, but it’s still rare to find a new one that isn’t a rehash of many, many older games. Same as with anything, I suppose.
I love to find novel game mechanics in these things, because generally a flash game isn’t much more than one game system. Some might say that MMOs aren’t either, but even if that’s true, the view of it is less obstructed in a flash game.
Generally it’s enough of a treat to find something like Chronotron. It uses a mechanic that I’ve seen a couple of times before, but never as well realized as it is here.
I don’t even know what to say about Music Bounce. It’s just brilliant.

Chronotron was pretty fun, made my dumb head think.
Flash is the best thing to happen to casual online gaming.
And every so often you get really good implementations of really good concepts, like Chronotron or SHIFT.
I’ve been playing Chronotron on Kongregate in order to get their badges for it. It’s a fascinating game in that it’s addictive, but it makes you think. It is quite frustrating, however, when you’ve gone through three or four iterations and then screw something up and have to start all over.
